Odnaleźli 100-letnią piwnicę z zasypanymi beczkami po piwie
Ponad stuletnią piwnicę z zasypanymi w środku beczkami po piwie odnaleziono w Kościerzynie podczas prac archeologicznych. Jak oceniają historycy to ciekawe znalezisko odsłoni kolejny fragment historii miasta.
– W środku odkryto też kilkanaście beczek po piwie z nieistniejących już browarów: gdańskiego i bytowskiego z początków 20 wieku – opowiada dyrektor Muzeum Ziemi Kościerskiej Krzysztof Jażdżewski.
Badania prowadzone były na działce przy ulicy Miodowej. Teren ten wpisany jest do rejestru zabytków, przez co inwestor zobowiązany był do wykonania prac archeologicznych. Podczas badań odkryto fragmenty piwnicy sprzed stu lat, która należała do miejscowego restauratora Antoniego Wierzbowskiego. Ponad stuletnie beczki zostaną poddane konserwacji i trafią do muzeów w Kościerzynie, Bytowie i Gdańsku.
