Joanna Zielińska nową przewodniczącą gdyńskiej Rady Miasta
Jest pierwszą kobietą, która pełni tę funkcję. Zastąpiła na stanowisku Zygmunta Zmudę-Trzebiatowskiego.
Nowa przewodnicząca Rady Miasta Gdyni jest także Pełnomocnikiem Prezydenta ds. sportu, wiceprzewodniczącą komisji sportu, członkinią komisji kultury, przewodniczącą Rady Sportu, przewodniczącą Społecznej Komisji Mieszkaniowej. Zielińska jest także wiceprzewodniczącą Stowarzyszenia Gmin RP Euroregion Bałtyk i wiceprzewodniczącą Pomorskiego Okręgowego Związku Koszykówki .
W gdyńskiej radzie była do tej pory jednym z trzech zastępców przewodniczącego.
Zygmunt Zmuda-Trzebiatowski przewodniczył radzie od grudnia 2014 roku, zasiada w niej nieprzerwanie od 1998 roku. W krótkim oświadczeniu poinformował, że rezygnację złożył z przyczyn osobistych. W wyniku głosowania został wiceprzewodniczącym Rady Miasta Gdyni.
