Świątynię stracili w pożarze w połowie lutego 2014 roku. Stary kościół miał słabe fundamenty i mury, a ogień poczynił takie szkody, że budynek trzeba było zburzyć. Nowy kościół ma już ściany i wieżę, rozpoczęto prace przy budowie dachu.
Budowa kościoła jest możliwa w głównej mierze dzięki datkom parafian. Według zamierzeń, prace budowlane potrwają przez najbliższych kilka miesięcy. Możliwe, że pod koniec bieżącego roku parafianie będą mogli korzystać z nowej świątyni.
