Dziś mija rok od śmierci profesora Jerzego Sampa – pisarza, znawcy literatury i kultury Pomorza i Kaszub.
Jerzy Samp przegrał w walce z ciężką chorobą w wieku 64 lat. Był profesorem Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego, napisał ponad 500 artykułów i 30 książek. Młodzieży szczególnie bliskie są jego „Legendy Gdańskie”, co udowodnili spektaklem inspirowanym tym dziełem uczniowie z drugiego Podstawowo-gimnazjalnego Zespołu Społecznego Towarzystwa Oświatowego z Gdańska. Inicjatorką wydarzenia była polonistka Bożena Ptak. Sztukę inspirowaną Legendami Gdańskimi Jerzego Sampa młodzież wystawiła na deskach gdańskiego Teatru Szekspirowskiego. Organizatorzy mają nadzieję, że da początek cyklowi takich wydarzeń i na stałe wpisze się w kalendarz imprez kulturalnych dla najmłodszych.
