Ponad 5000 osób zgłosiło się do Biegu Urodzinowym Gdyni. Ideę zmierzenia się z własnymi słabościami promują wspólnie Gdyńskie Centrum Sportu i PKO Bank Polski z okazji 90 rocznicy uzyskania przez Gdynię praw miejskich.
– Mimo młodego stażu to jedna z największych w Polsce imprez biegowych – mówi dyrektor oddziału PKO BP w Pucku, Sebastian Czecholiński.
PKO BP i GCS po raz 3 organizują wspólnie Grand Prix Gdyni, w której mogą startować zarówno profesjonaliści, jak i amatorzy biegania. Grand Prix to cykl czterech biegów, z których najbliższy odbędzie się 13 lutego. Na dystansie 10 kilometrów zawodnicy powalczą m. in. o samochód oraz pierwszy element unikalnej, medalowej układanki, przedstawiającej ulicę Świętojańską w Gdyni. Przewidziano też krótsze, niespełna dwukilometrowe dystanse dla maluchów, młodzików i juniorów. – Istotą tej imprezy nie są nagrody, a przede wszystkim dobra zabawa – mówi dyrektor GCS, Marek Łucyk. Bieg główny startuje 13 lutego, o godzinie 15:00 ze Skweru Kościuszki.
