Jan Paweł II-najszybsza kanonizacja w historii Kościoła
To będzie najszybsza kanonizacja w historii nowożytnego Kościoła – Jan Paweł Drugi zostanie ogłoszony świętym zaledwie 9 lat po śmierci, decyzję ogłosił wczoraj papież Franciszek. Kanonizacja papieża Polaka odbędzie się 27 kwietnia, tego samego dnia ogłoszony świętym zostanie także Jan 23. Jak zaznaczał kardynał Angelo Amato przedstawiając sylwetki obu kandydatów do świętości, szczególną rolę w ich pontyfikatach odgrywała służba na rzecz pokoju, w czasach transformacji. Obaj papieże wprowadzili kościół w 21 wiek – najpierw Jan 23 zwołał Sobór Watykański II, który doprowadził do radykalnych zmian takich jak nowa formuła mszy świętej czy ekumeniczna postawa duchownych. W soborze uczestniczył Karol Wojtyła, późniejszy Jan Paweł Drugi, papież-pielgrzym, który jako pierwszy następca piotrowy odwiedził wszystkie zamieszkane kontynenty. 27 siódmy kwietnia to data ustanowionej przez niego Niedzieli Miłosierdzia Bożego. Kanonizacja Jana Pawła Drugiego to dla wiernych potwierdzenie tego, co wiedzieli już od dawna – mówi ksiądz Marian Miotk, proboszcz parafii w Gniewinie. Kanonizacja papieża Jana Pawła II w zaledwie dziewięć lat po śmierci to sytuacja dotąd niespotykana. Także kanonizacja Jana 23. jest wyjątkowa. Papież Franciszek zdecydował bowiem, że nie jest w jej przypadku potrzebny drugi cud uzdrowienia – dokonany po beatyfikacji. Dwaj wielcy reformatorzy kościoła staną się świętymi 27 kwietnia.
