Obchody Roku Matematyki uroczyście zakończone
W Wejherowie zakończono powiatowe obchody Roku Matematyki. Uroczystość odbyła się w tzw. elektryku, czyli Zespole Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych nr 2.
– Chodziło o obalenie mitu, że matematyka jest nauką nie do opanowania – mówi szefowa wejherowskiej filii Pedagogicznej Biblioteki Wojewódzkiej w Gdańsku Alina Hope.
Konkursy, warsztaty, ciekawe wydarzenia skierowane przede wszystkim do młodzieży i pokazujące jak przydatna i ciekawa może być matematyka odbywały się w całym regionie. Rok 2015 w województwie pomorskim był poświęcony „królowej nauk” za sprawą pomorskiego marszałka i rektorów Akademii Pomorskiej w Słupsku, Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego i Politechniki Gdańskiej. W akcję włączyło się wiele instytucji i szkół. W powiecie wejherowskim – jak podsumował członek zarządu powiatu Wojciech Rybakowski – wyniki napawają optymizmem.
By propagować matematykę wśród młodzieży przez niemal 12 miesięcy prowadzono wykłady i organizowano takie wydarzenia jak np. Noc Liczby Pi, były też konkursy plastyczne i literackie. Kształcenie z zakresu matematyki to obok szkolnictwa zawodowego jeden z najważniejszych priorytetów oświatowych w województwie pomorskim.
