Opracują historię kaszubskiej emigracji w Stanach
Wspomnienia amerykańskich Kaszubów chce opublikować w przyszłym roku wydawnictwo Rost. Redaktor Eugeniusz Pryczkowski wrócił właśnie z dwutygodniowej wyprawy do emigracji kaszubskiej w Kanadzie i Stanach Zjednoczonych. W połowie XIX wieku Kaszubi z południowych i środkowych Kaszub emigrowali głównie do Kanady i USA. Dobrze znana jest emigracja kanadyjska, gdzie działają kaszubskie instytucje, tamtejsi Kaszubi uczą się języka i kultywują nasze tradycje. Inaczej jest w USA, gdzie Kaszubi w większości zasymilowali się z miejscową ludnością. W miejscowości Dżekson Miczigen Eugeniusz Pryczkowski spotkał 88-letniego Kaszubę Alfonsa Bladowskiego, który pochodzi z Mirachowa w powiecie kartuskim a od czasów powojennych mieszka w USA. Już kilka lat temu spisał on swoje wspomnienia, które teraz chce wydać wydawnictwo Rost. Dodajmy, że szeroką współpracę z Kaszubami w USA prowadzi też miasto Bytów. Wspólnie z partnerskim miastem Winona w przyszłym roku chce zorganizować wymianę studentów z Uniwersytetów w Gdańsku i Winonie, którzy opracują historię kaszubskiej emigracji w Stanach.
