KOŚCIERZYNA: Nagroda ECO-Miasto za proekologiczną działalność
Kościerzyna została nagrodzona za proekologiczną działalność. Otrzymała statuetkę ECO-Miasto.
Konkurs zorganizowała ambasada Francji w Polsce, Renault Polska oraz Narodowy Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej. Niekwestionowanym liderem okazała się Warszawa, którą wyróżniono za politykę zrównoważonej mobilności oraz budownictwo ekologiczne.
W kategorii miast do 30 tysięcy mieszkańców najlepsza jednak okazała się Kościerzyna. Jury konkursu nagrodziło miasto za za kompleksowość działań, za uwagę poświęconą transportowi towarowemu, plany ograniczenia ruchu drogowego w centrum miasta i kampanie informacyjno-edukacyjne.
Laureaci konkursu – 6 miast, po 3 w każdej kategorii – otrzymali statuetkę ECO-MIASTO 2013. W zwycięskich miastach przeprowadzone będzie również badanie i analiza sytuacji pod kątem zrównoważonego rozwoju, opracowane przez francuskiego eksperta.
