Ksiądz Bernard Sychta został patronem gimnazjum nr 1
Wybitny kaszubski językoznawca ksiądz Bernard Sychta został patronem gimnazjum nr 1 Kościerzynie. Uroczystość połączono z obchodami 30-lecia największej w mieście szkoły podstawowej nr 6, która od wielu lat nosi już imię tego kaszubskiego uczonego.
Pochodzący z Puzdrowa ksiądz Sychta znany jest jako wszechstronnie wykształcony uczony, ksiądz i autor wielu publikacji. Dziełem jego życia był siedmiotomowy „Słownik gwar kaszubskich na tle kultury ludowej”, z którego do dzisiaj korzystają uczeni i językoznawcy. Ta postać będzie doskonałym wzorem dla naszych uczniów – podkreślała dyrektor szkoły Grażyna Nykiel i przewodnicząca Rady Miasta Teresa Preis. Imię księdza Sychty noszą na Pomorzu już 4 szkoły, oprócz Kościerzyny to również placówki w Puzdrowie oraz Świeciu.
