Mieszkańcy gminy Szemud wsparli uczniów polskiej szkoły na Litwie
Ponad 200 uczniów z polskiej szkoły w Turgielach na Litwie wsparli mieszkańcy gminy Szemud. Dzieci otrzymały szkolne wyprawki, do placówki trafił też sprzęt elektroniczny.
– Odzew był ogromny, mieszkańcy chodzili na wyprzedaże, by zakupić jak najwięcej akcesoriów – mówi wójt gminy Szemud Ryszard Kalkowski.
Bodźcem do przeprowadzenia zbiórki była sierpniowa wizyta delegacji samorządowców z Szemuda w Turgielach na Wileńszczyźnie. Wówczas okazało się, że uczniowie tamtejszej szkoły średniej będą mieli problem z zakupem niezbędnych przyborów szkolnych. Na Litwie, która od stycznia tego roku znalazła się w strefie euro, podrożały one kilkukrotnie. Zbiórka w gminie Szemud zaowocowała busem wypełnionym m. in. piórnikami, zeszytami i tornistrami i sprzętem elektronicznym, który do Turgiel pojechał w ostatnich dniach września. Gmina Turgiele jest jedną z najliczniej zamieszkałych przez Polaków na Litwie. (Foto: www.szemud.pl)
