Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna przewiozła pierwszych pasażerów
Nowoczesnym szynobusem i retro pociągiem z opalaną węglem lokomotywą – Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna przewiozła pierwszych pasażerów. Wczoraj Dniem Otwartym świętowano start nowej linii kolejowej.
– To nie tylko wielkie przedsięwzięcie logistyczne, to także element który będzie spajał nasz region – mówi marszałek województwa, Mieczysław Struk.
Na przejażdżkę po zakończeniu oficjalnych uroczystości na terminalu lotniska pojechali m.in premier Ewa Kopacz, przedstawiciele samorządów i fani kolei, którzy zdobyli bilety na pierwszy przejazd. Kurs odbył się między przystankami Port Lotniczy i Gdańsk Strzyża. – Warto było czekać, bo to inwestycja która wszystkim ułatwi życie – mówili pasażerowie. Ponad dwa lata budowy i wydany niemal miliard złotych zaowocowały linią, którą z Gdańska Wrzeszcza dostaniemy się bezpośrednio na lotnisko, a na jej torach bydgoska Pesa osiągnie do 120 km na godzinę. Od pierwszego października kolej ma docierać do Kartuz, a od połowy grudnia do Kościerzyny. Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna to pierwsza w kraju inwestycja kolejowa zrealizowana w pełni przez wojewódzki samorząd. Regularny rozkład jazdy wchodzi w życie jutro.
