W Kościerzynie będą się ścigać gumowe kaczki
To jedna z najbardziej pomysłowych i największych akcji charytatywnych na Kaszubach – w Kościerzynie znów będą się ścigać gumowe kaczki a dochód z ich sprzedaży zostanie przeznaczony na doposażenie oddziału dziecięcego szpitala w Kościerzynie. Organizatorem już trzeciego wyścigu Duck Race jest Kościerskie Centrum Wolontariatu.
– Przygotowaliśmy prawie tysiąc kaczek, które już można nabywać – mówi szefowa Kościerskiego Centrum Wolontariatu Elżbieta Turzyńska.
To idea pomocy zaczerpnięta ze Stanów Zjednoczonych. Uczestnicy kupują gumowe kaczki, które potem biorą udział w wyścigu. Dochód ze sprzedaży przeznaczany jest na cel charytatywny, a właściciele zwycięskich kaczek wygrywają nagrody. W ubiegłym roku w Kościerzynie w akcję włączyło się ponad 600 osób. Organizatorzy liczą, że podobnie będzie i teraz. Podobne akcje w Polsce organizowane są w niewielu miastach. Największą popularność mają w Stanach Zjednoczonych i Wielkiej Brytanii. Największy wyścig odbył się w Londynie w 2007 roku, gdzie popłynęło ponad 160 tysięcy kaczek. Kościerskie kaczki będzie można zakupić na rynku miasta jutro i w sobotę od godziny 11 do 13. Wyścig wraz z festynem rodzinnym odbędzie się w niedzielę na rzece Bibrowej. Początek o godzinie 12.
