W Gdyni ochrzczono jacht dla niepełnosprawnych żeglarzy
Na wózkach, o kulach bądź z białą laską – dziesiątki osób przyglądało i przysłuchiwało się w sobotę w gdyńskiej marinie ceremonii chrztu jachtu dla niepełnosprawnych żeglarzy „Empatia Polska”. Oceaniczna jednostka powstała dzięki staraniom poznańskiej Fundacji na Rzecz Integracji Społecznej „Empatia”.
– Empatia to adekwatne imię, bo jej właśnie nam bardzo brakuje – powiedział podczas ceremonii prezydent Gdyni, Wojciech Szczurek.
Budowano ją przez siedem lata, a w projektowaniu uwzględniono wiele uwag niepełnosprawnych. Dwumasztowy jacht zbudowany na bazie konstrukcji typu Bruce Roberts 44 jest w pełni przystosowany do potrzeb swoich załogantów. – Zamontowano na nim m. in. dodatkowe uchwyty i poręcze, specjalną nawierzchnię dla użytkowników kul i bardzo wytrzymałe relingi – dodaje prezes Fundacji Niewidomych Żeglarzy „Ślepa Kura” Ryszard Pożar. Matką chrzestną „Empatii Polskiej” została mistrzyni Polski w żeglarstwie paraolimpijskim Olga Górnaś-Grudzień. Na razie z jachtu nie mogą korzystać osoby na wózkach, ale poznańska fundacja planuje budowę również takich jednostek.
