Zwiedzali i poznawali technologię produkcji ciepła
Ekologiczną technologię produkcji ciepła i energii elektrycznej poznawali zwiedzający elektrociepłownię w Wejherowie – w ramach Dni Otwartych Funduszy Europejskich.
– Chcemy pokazać, jak wygląda nasza praca – mówi rzecznik OPEC Joanna Kozłowska.
To doroczna, ogólnopolska akcja promująca projekty zrealizowane przy wsparciu pieniędzy z unii. Potrwa do niedzieli, można w jej ramach m.in. zwiedzić miejsca na co dzień niedostępne. W przedsięwzięcie drugi raz włączył się wejherowski oddział Okręgowego Przedsiębiorstwa Energetyki Cieplnej, który dwa lata temu przeprowadził modernizację zakładu korzystając z unijnych dotacji. Zwiedzający zapoznali się z procesem kogeneracji – to ekologiczna technologia jednoczesnej produkcji ciepła i energii elektrycznej. Zobaczyli także gazowy silnik zasilający elektrociepłownię, który zainstalowano w 2013 roku dzięki dotacji z funduszy europejskich w ramach programu zmniejszenia emisji zanieczyszczeń. Zainteresowanie było ogromne, przez dwie godziny przez OPEC przewinęło się ponad 150 osób. Wejherowski OPEC ogrzewa i zaopatruje w prąd 70 proc. mieszkańców miasta. Po modernizacji wydajność zakładu wzrosła o 50% w stosunku do klasycznej elektrociepłowni węglowej.
