Kaszubi żegnają profesora Jerzego Tredera
Kaszubi żegnają profesora Jerzego Tredera. Uroczystości pogrzebowe odbędą się dzisiaj w Wejherowie i Redzie.
Profesor Jerzy Treder był najwybitniejszym językoznawcą kaszubskim, przez całe życie oddanym kaszubszczyźnie. Po długiej walce z chorobą nowotworową zmarł 2 kwietnia w wieku 73 lat. Za swoje dokonania został w marcu odznaczony Honorowym Wyróżnieniem za Zasługi dla Województwa Pomorskiego. Był głównym twórcą kaszubskiego języka literackiego i dotyczących go opracowań naukowych.
Profesor Jerzy Treder urodził się 14 kwietnia 1942 roku w Białej Rzece. Całe życie związany był z Wejherowem, a zawodowo z Uniwersytetem Gdańskim. Zajmował się historią języka polskiego i kaszubskiego, dialektologią i onomastyką. Był również doskonałym pedagogiem, mającym olbrzymi wpływ na kształtowanie młodego pokolenia polonistów i kaszubologów na Pomorzu. W swoim dorobku naukowym miał ponad 300 publikacji.
Od 1973 r. prof. Jerzy Treder należał do Zrzeszenia Kaszubsko-Pomorskiego, zasiadał w jego naczelnych władzach. Uczestniczył w wielu przedsięwzięciach popularyzujących język kaszubski.
Msza pogrzebowa za profesora Jerzego Tredera zostanie odprawiona dzisiaj w kościele św. Leona w Wejherowie o godzinie 11:00, po niej nastąpi przejazd na cmentarz w Redzie, gdzie odbędzie się pogrzeb. (Fot. Dariusz Majkowski)
