10 lat ustawy o mniejszościach narodowych
21 gmin z podwójnymi nazwami miejscowości i 5, w których kaszubski uznany jest za język pomocniczy w Urzędzie Gmin – to kaszubski bilans 10 lat obowiązywania ustawy o mniejszościach narodowych i etnicznych oraz języku regionalnym. Sukcesy i porażki tego czasu podsumowali samorządowcy, parlamentarzyści i działacze kaszubscy podczas konferencji w Szemudzie.
– Dobrze wypadamy na tle innych mniejszości w Polsce, choć moglibyśmy zrobić więcej – oceniał w sobotę podczas konferencji prezes Zrzeszenia Kaszubsko-Pomorskiego Łukasz Grzędzicki.
Uchwalona w styczniu 2005 roku ustawa była przełomem dla mniejszości i Kaszubów w Polsce. Dała prawo do finansowania edukacji, kultury a także języka mniejszościowego. Od tego czasu na Kaszubach liczba uczniów języka kaszubskiego wzrosła ponad czterokrotnie, a w 21 gminach pojawiły się dwujęzyczne nazwy miejscowości.
Dwujęzyczne tablice miejscowości są w 7 gminach w powiecie kartuskim, 5 w powiecie kościerskim oraz po cztery w bytowskim i wejherowskim, a także w jednej gminie w powiecie chojnickim. – Musimy do tego grona zachęcić samorządowców z Pucka, Lęborka i Słupska – przyznaje marszałek województwa Mieczysław Struk. W tym roku dwujęzyczne tablice prawdopodobnie pojawią się w kolejnych gminach: w Cewicach, Tuchomiu, Przodkowie, Pucku i Krokowej. (Fot. D. Majkowski)
