Starka, stareszka, babusia i óma – to tylko część z wielu kaszubskich słów określających babcię. Dzisiaj przyglądamy się im w dniu naszych kochanych babć.
W kaszubskich podręcznikach najczęściej funkcjonuje słowo starka, choć na północy Kaszub znaczy to tyle co teściowa, więc tam na babcię Kaszubi mówią „óma”. Bardziej spolaszałe wersje występują na południu Kaszub, gdzie używa się archaicznej wersji „babusia” i polskiej wersji „babcia”. A jak babcia nazywana jest w podręcznikach? Sprawdził dla nas nauczyciel języka kaszubskiego z Wejherowa Karol Rhode. Napisy „Nokochóńszo óma – ópa” pojawiły się też na kaszubskich prezentach na dzisiejsze święto, które nasza reporterka Ania Cupa – Dziemińska znalazła w Kaszubskiej Galerii Farwa w Kościerzynie. Choć właścicielka galerii Andżelika Szufler pochodzi ze środkowych Kaszub, gdzie częściej używa się słowa starka. Jak mówi – słowo óma jest bardziej oryginalne. A my wszystkim „ómom” albo „starkom” życzymy dużo radości i długich lat życia.
