Nie wszędzie bezpiecznie w noc sylwestrową

20 interwencji odnotowali pomorscy strażacy w noc sylwestrową. Do najpoważniejszego zdarzenia doszło w Gdańsku, gdzie w wyniku pożaru zginęła 82-letnia kobieta. Niebezpiecznie było też w Karsinie. Tam ranna została 20-latka, której podczas odpalania petarda uderzyła w głowę.
Pół godziny po północy doszło do pożaru altany z drewnem oraz garażu w Rybakach w gminie Somonino. Pożar wybuchł prawdopodobnie od upadku fajerwerków na altanę. Na szczęście nikt tam nie ucierpiał. Straty właściciele oszacowali na około 10 tysięcy złotych. Groźnie w noc sylwestrową było też w Nowym Tuchomiu, gdzie palił się warsztat samochodowy. Przyczyną było prawdopodobnie zwarcie instalacji elektrycznej podczas ładowania akumulatora. Ogień pojawił się wewnątrz „dobudówki” obiektu gospodarczego, rozprzestrzeniając się do sąsiedniego pomieszczenia. Pożar był o tyle niebezpieczny, że wewnątrz obiektu znajdowały się butle z łatwopalnymi substancjami. Z żywiołem walczyło kilka zastępów strażaków z Kartuz, Banina i Miszewa. Straty oszacowano na około 20 tysięcy złotych. Strażacy w sylwestrową noc interweniowali jeszcze kilkanaście razy. Były to niewielkie pożary balkonów, dachów ogrodowych, śmietników i drewnianych palet.
