Po dwóch latach bojów, siedziba sądu 1 stycznia wróci do Kościerzyny. To efekt nowelizacji ustawy o ustroju sądów powszechnych. Cofa ona kontrowersyjną reformę byłego ministra sprawiedliwości Jarosława Gowina, którą zlikwidował 79 najmniejszych sądów w Polsce.
Od nowego roku ponad połowa z nich znowu zacznie normalnie funkcjonować. Będą one istniały tam, gdzie liczba mieszkańców w powiecie wynosi co najmniej 50 tys., a liczba spraw – 5 tys. rocznie. Oba te warunki spełnia Kościerzyna – mówi kurator sądowy Paweł Liedtke, który od początku walczył o przywrócenie siedziby sądu w mieście. W obronie zlikwidowanych sądów mieszkańcy powiatu kościerskiego pisali petycje, organizowane były też manifestacje i apele samorządowców. Teraz mieszkańcy zapowiadają walkę o przywrócenie w Kościerzynie sądu pracy.
