Ponad 30 miliardów złotych w ramach kontraktu terytorialnego trafi na Pomorze w najbliższych latach. Z tych środków realizowana będzie między innymi budowa drogi ekspresowej S7 z Warszawy do Gdańska, obwodnica Kościerzyny i modernizacja portów morskich. Kontrakt Terytorialny to umowa pomiędzy rządem a samorządem, określająca inwestycje istotne dla rozwoju kraju i województwa.
W wynegocjowanym dokumencie dla Pomorza zapisano 67 zadań na łączną kwotę 30 i pół mld złotych – z czego połowa dotyczy inwestycji transportowych. Kontrakt przewiduje rozbudowę Szybkiej Kolei Miejskiej oraz rewitalizację linii na trasach Lębork-Łeba, Kwidzyn-Malbork, Słupsk-Ustka oraz Gdynia Chylonia-Słupsk. Dokument zawiera też inwestycje, które mają poprawić kolejowy i drogowy dostęp do portów w Gdańsku i w Gdyni – mówi marszałek województwa Mieczysław Struk. W ramach kontraktu planowane są też: modernizacja portu wewnętrznego i wejścia do portu w Gdańsku, budowa terminalu promowego oraz przebudowa nabrzeży w porcie Gdynia. Kontrakt przewiduje także inwestycje w dziedzinie ochrony dziedzictwa narodowego a także termomodernizacji obiektów czy rozbudowy sieci ciepłowniczych. Pod względem wartości Kontraktu Terytorialnego Pomorskie jest na czwartym miejscu w kraju, po Mazowszu, Śląsku i Małopolsce. Pod względem kwoty przypadającej na jednego mieszkańca jest na drugim miejscu, po województwie podlaskim.
