W Redzie ruszyła rozbudowa siedziby Miejskiego Ośrodka Pomocy Społecznej. Jedyne wejście do placówki znajduje się teraz od ulicy Derdowskiego. Utrudnienia mają potrwać do marca przyszłego roku. Po zakończeniu prac wielkość budynku ma się zwiększyć o 40% – przybędzie sala konferencyjna, mops zyska też nowe archiwum i więcej pomieszczeń biurowych dla pracowników. Do tego wymiana starych okien, elewacji i oświetlenia na energooszczędne. Zamontowana zostanie także nowa wentylacja – tak by upały w lecie nie dokuczały już urzędnikom i petentom. Rozpoczęta rozbudowa nie wpłynęła w sposób znaczący na pracę MOPS. Remont Miejskiego Ośrodka Pomocy Społecznej będzie kosztował w sumie 400 tysięcy złotych.
