– Jezdnia jest tam już gotowa, trwają prace wykończeniowe przy chodnikach. Równolegle przebudowywane jest skrzyżowanie Obwodowej z Łąkową, które dzięki dodaniu lewoskrętów i sygnalizacji świetlnej poprawi bezpieczeństwo tego połączenia – wyjaśnia burmistrz Redy Krzysztof Krzemiński.
W Redzie dobiegają końca dwie inwestycje na ulicy Obwodowej. To trasa, którą – zwłaszcza w lecie – kierowcy omijają zatłoczone centrum miasta w drodze na Półwysep Helski. Poszerzone zostało już wąskie gardło – jakim był mostek na kanale łyskim łączący Obwodową z Kazimierską. Znaczenie Obwodowej jako alternatywy dla krajowej szóstki jeszcze wzrośnie, gdy ukończone zostanie jej połączenie z Rumią, z ulicą Kosynierów. Przebudowa mostka i skrzyżowania na obwodowej kosztuje w sumie 2 i pół miliona złotych.
