Powiat wejherowski najludniejszym powiatem na Pomorzu
Najludniejszym powiatem na Pomorzu jest powiat wejherowski. Według ostatnich danych mieszka tam już 204 tysiące mieszkańców.
To też piąty – po krakowskim, nowosądeckim, wołomińskim i kieleckim powiat w polskim państwie. Na wzrost liczby mieszkańców wpływ mają przede wszystkim migracje mieszkańców i bliskość Trójmiasta. W powiecie wejherowskim mieszkania i ziemia pod dom jest o wiele tańsza niż w Gdańsku czy Gdyni. Do tego miejscowości są dobrze skomunikowane – w godzinach szczytu co 15 minut można pojechać kolejką SKM z Wejherowa do Gdańska. W powiecie wejherowskim osiedlają się ludzie z Trójmiasta, ale także ze Słupska czy Lęborka.
– To duże zobowiązanie dla samorządu – mówi starosta Józef Reszke.
Dodajmy, że przekroczenie liczby 200 tysięcy mieszkańców ma też swoje konkretne efekty. Strażacy zyskali drugiego zastępcę komendanta powiatowego. Wydział Komunikacji starostwa, który rejestruje dziennie 120 aut, pracuje już od godziny 7 do 17:30, aby rozładować kolejki. Architektura również wydaje najwięcej na Pomorzu pozwoleń na budowę w terenie.
