Truskawka Kaszubska wciąż jedynym produktem z Kaszub z unijnym znakiem jakości. Do rejestrowania swoich propozycji zachęcają w Urzędzie Marszałkowskim w Gdańsku.
Ochronie produktów wyróżniających się jakością w swoich regionach służą w Europie: Chroniona Nazwa Pochodzenia, Chronione Oznaczenie Geograficzne, Gwarantowana Tradycyjna Specjalność. – Rejestracja nie jest łatwa, ale daje wiele wymiernych korzyści – zachęca Aleksandra Raczyńska z Urzędu Marszałkowskiego Województwa Pomorskiego. Zarejestrowane nazwy są m.in. chronione przed wykorzystywaniem w celach komercyjnych i zawłaszczeniem. W województwie pomorskim jest co rejestrować. Na ministerialnej liście produktów tradycyjnych jest ponad 170 pozycji – jednak certyfikacji unijnej doczekała się tylko wspomniana wcześniej kaszubska truskawka.
