26 mln zł na walkę ze skutkami ulewnych deszczy chcą wydać w Gdyni
To reakcja na zniszczenia spowodowane ubiegłoroczną, lipcową ulewą – zalane ulice i budynki, osuwiska terenu, uszkodzone brzegi rzek. Lista potrzeb jest długa, wytypowano cztery ważne zadania.
Pierwsze jest na ukończeniu – to budowa kanalizacji deszczowej w Śródmieściu, w rejonie ulic Wybickiego, Armii Krajowej, skweru Kościuszki i alei Jana Pawła II. Nowej sieci doczekają się też mieszkańcy osiedla Zamenhofa – Opata Hackiego na Chyloni, gdzie powstanie też kolektor i podziemny zbiornik retencyjny. Podobna inwestycja planowana jest w Demptowie – tam zbiornik będzie jednak otwarty, ma urozmaicać krajobraz a zatrzymana deszczówka będzie wykorzystywana np. do podlewania zieleni miejskiej. Czwarte zadanie, które ma złagodzić skutki ulewnego deszczu to przebudowa boisk szkolnych przy ulicy Wolności. Asfaltowa nawierzchnia zostanie zastąpiona sztuczną, przepuszczalną dla wody.
Prace budowlane przy tych zadaniach potrwają do końca trzeciego kwartału 2018 roku. Władze miasta liczą, że uda się pozyskać środki unijne. Gdynia ubiega się bowiem o ponad 20 mln zł wsparcia z Funduszu Spójności. To niemal 80 procent kosztu całego projektu. Decyzja w sprawie dofinansowania ma zapaść w połowie lutego.
