Podpisali petycję w sprawie ochrony języka kaszubskiego
Kaszubi nie jesteście sami – deklarowali w Wejherowie członkowie European Free Alliance, czyli Wolnego Sojuszu Europejskiego. Podpisali petycję w sprawie ochrony języka kaszubskiego i praw mniejszości etnicznych i narodowych w Polsce.
– Petycja, która trafi do Europarlamentu, pokazuje że nie tylko Kaszubi są zaniepokojeni działaniami polskiego rządu – mówi wiceprezes KJ, Artur Jabłoński.
Konferencja poświęcona roli mediów dla kształtowania się małych narodów była kulminacją trzydniowego spotkania. Na zaproszenie Stowarzyszenia Osób Narodowości Kaszubskiej Kaszëbskô Jednota przyjechali przedstawiciele ośmiu mniejszości, m. in. Fryzyjczycy, Macedończycy, Katalończycy, Łemkowie i Ślązacy.
Na spotkaniu w Wejherowie podkreślano, że media mniejszościowe w Europie zderzają się z podobnymi barierami: niechęcią ze strony mediów publicznych, problemami z finansowaniem i utrudnieniami legislacyjnymi. Za taką barierę uznano też projekt ustawy medialnej Prawa i Sprawiedliwości. Wolny Sojusz Europejski zrzesza 44 partie i organizacje narodów bezpaństwowych. Kaszëbskô Jednota dołączyła do EFA w kwietniu bieżącego roku.
