Wyścigami Laserów rozpoczęły się regaty Volvo Gdynia Sailing Days
Lasery zapoczątkowały wczoraj regaty Volvo Gdynia Sailing Days. To 19 edycja tej imprezy, potrwa do 17 lipca. W sumie zmierzy się podczas niej 2 tysiące zawodników.
Na początek wystartowali przedstawiciele klas Laser Standard, Laser Radial i Laser 4.7. Pierwszego dnia na Zatoce Gdańskiej rywalizowało 185-u zawodników z pięciu krajów – oprócz Polski także z Danii, Łotwy, Niemiec i Białorusi. Ścigają się w Pucharze Miasta Gdyni, a w klasie Laser Standard dodatkowo o tytuł mistrza Polski Juniorów. Na Volvo Gdynia Sailing Days zaprezentuje się pełna gama uczestników reprezentujących różne środowiska żeglarskie – zaczynając od najmniejszych Optimistów na superszybkich łódkach w konkurencjach olimpijskich kończąc. Dla Gdynian i turystów przygotowano także imprezy towarzyszące – strefę zabaw dla dzieci, przegląd filmów żeglarskich i marynistycznych, spotkania z żeglarskimi mistrzami i zajęcia edukacyjne dotyczące bezpiecznego zachowania nad wodą. Żeglarskie święto w Gdyni potrwa do 17 lipca.
