Wejherowskie muzeum wzbogaciło się o cenny rękopis
Muzeum Piśmiennictwa i Muzyki Kaszubsko-Pomorskiej powiększyło swoje zbiory o unikatowy artefakt z początku XX wieku. To kaszubskojęzyczny rękopis niepublikowanego opowiadania „Strachy w młynie Łączyńskiem” autorstwa Ottona Karsznego.
Urodzony w 1875 roku w Potęgowie Otton Paweł Karszny zmarł w wieku 63 lat w Sierakowicach. Posługiwał się pseudonimem „Sambor znad Bałtyku”. Był postacią niezwykle barwną, autorem wielu opowiadań i powieści historycznych z przeszłości Pomorza, które publikował w okresie międzywojennym m.in., w „Gazecie Kartuskiej”. Zajmował się też poezją. W gorącym okresie odzyskiwania niepodległości przez Polskę w latach 1918-20 został pierwszym nauczycielem języka polskiego i religii w szkole w Sierakowicach. Wybrano go na sołtysa, później został wójtem Gminy Sierakowice. Był blisko spokrewniony ze znanym językoznawcą kaszubskim ks. Bernardem Sychtą, autorem „Słownika gwar kaszubskich na tle kultury ludowej”.
Rękopis opowiadania do zbiorów wejherowskiej placówki przekazała Irena Kulwikowska – dyrektor Gminnego Ośrodka Kultury w Sierakowicach. Zostanie przepisany we współcześnie obowiązującej pisowni kaszubskiej i wydany drukiem przez Muzeum Piśmiennictwa i Muzyki Kaszubsko-Pomorskiej.
