Tydzień Rekina w Akwarium Gdyńskim – 14-22 XI
Jedne z najchętniej odwiedzanych imprez organizowanych w Akwarium Gdyńskim to Tydzień Rekina oraz Dni Otwarte Centrum Edukacji. W tym roku obie imprezy zostały połączone, wskutek czego przez 9 dni, od 14 do 22 listopada, budynek Akwarium będzie przepełniony dodatkowymi atrakcjami.
Korzenie Tygodnia Rekina sięgają roku 2008, kiedy to w ramach koalicji Shark Allaince miłośnicy mórz z całej Europy rozpoczęli kampanię przeciwko wprowadzeniu zakazu finningu na naszym kontynencie. Dziesiątki tysięcy podpisów zebranych pod petycją poskutkowało i Parlament Europejski zakazał tego krwawego procederu. Jednak tradycja Tygodnia Rekina pozostała. To czas, kiedy lepiej poznajemy tajemnice tych fascynujących zwierząt: m.in. walczymy z mitami stworzonymi przez kinematografię, sprawdzamy jaka w dotyku jest skóra rekina, przyglądamy się rekinim zębom. Tydzień Rekina to też okazja do zwiedzenia pomieszczenia hodowlanego żarłaczy rafowych czarnopłetwych, które na co dzień nie jest dostępne dla turystów. Ponadto, w tym roku uczestnicy Tygodnia Rekina będą mogli wygrać Dzień z życia akwarysty czyli jednodniowy udział w karmieniu zwierząt i innych pracach wykonywanych przez opiekunów mieszkańców Akwarium.
Dni Otwarte Centrum Edukacji to możliwość zajrzenia do sal laboratoryjnych, w których rokrocznie prawie 40 tysięcy uczniów poznaje tajemnice podwodnego świata. To święto zarówno dla miłośników oceanu, jak i dla osób będących z biologią na bakier, którym lekcje przyrody przywołują złe szkolne wspomnienia. Świat oceanu jest przepiękny, tylko forma jego pokazania powinna zostać odpowiednio dobrana. Jak to robi Centrum Edukacji Akwarium Gdyńskiego? Sprawdzić będzie można już w weekend 21 – 22 listopada.
