Światowy Dzień Ptaków Wędrownych w Kuźnicy odbędzie się 9 i 10 maja na plaży w Kuźnicy, wejście nr 29 / obóz ornitologiczny Akcji Bałtyckiej
Światowy Dzień Ptaków Wędrownych jest świętem zainicjowanym w 2006 roku przez Program Środowiskowy Organizacji Narodów Zjednoczonych (UNEP) w ramach porozumienia o ochronie afrykańsko-euroazjatyckich wędrownych ptaków wodnych (ang. African-Eurasian Waterbird Agreement, AEWA) i konwencji o ochronie wędrownych gatunków dzikich zwierząt (ang. Convention on Migratory Species, CMS).
Święto to jest coroczną kampanią uświadamiającą potrzebę ochrony ptaków wędrownych i ich siedlisk. W drugi weekend maja, ludzie na całym świecie organizują imprezy publiczne, aby popularyzować wiedzę na temat ptasich migracji oraz potrzebę ich ochrony. Od 2013 również Akcja Bałtycka włączyła się w obchody tego święta. Tegoroczne Światowe Dni Ptaków Wędrownych odbywają się pod hasłem „Energia – uczyńmy ją bezpieczną dla ptaków”.
