Reda świętuje 50. rocznicę nadania praw miejskich
Reda nie jest sypialnią Trójmiasta, ale dynamicznie rozwijającym się miastem – to nieformalne zawołanie pod jakim świętowano okrągłą, 50 rocznicę nadania jej praw miejskich. Obchody rozpoczęły się uroczystą sesją rady miejskiej.
– Ta niegdyś senna osada, dzisiaj jest prężnie rozwijającym się miastem – wspomina przewodniczący rady miasta Redy, Kazimierz Okrój.
Kulminacja święta przypadła na sobotę i niedzielę – samorządowcy zasadzili 5 dębów po jednym na każdą dekadę, bawiono rodzinnym festynie przy wspólnej biesiadzie i serii koncertów. Udział w urodzinach Redy wzięli m.in. radni z Lublińca i Łowicza – zaprzyjaźnionych samorządów, na cześć których przed redzkim magistratem postawiono Ławeczkę Przyjaźni. Pierwsze wzmianki o osadzie o nazwie Reda pochodzą z połowy 14 wieku, prawa miejskie uzyskała 1 stycznia 1967 roku.
