Powstała książka o wojennej historii mieszkańców Dziemian i działających tam oddziałach partyzanckich w czasie II wojny światowej. Promowano ją wczoraj podczas odsłonięcia tablicy ku czci zamordowanego przez hitlerowców partyzanta Franciszka Skwierawskiego.
– Jej wartością jest bogata szata graficzna, spisy nazwisk i prawda historyczna – ocenia recenzent książki prof. Bogdan Chrzanowski.
Autorami dzieła „Konspiracja w gminie Dziemiany w latach 1939-1945” są profesor Andrzej Gąsiorowski i doktor Monika Tomkiewicz. Zebrali informacje o losach oddziałów partyzanckich Gryfa Pomorskiego i Armii Krajowej na tym terenie oraz mieszkańcach, którzy im pomagali. Jak mówili autorzy publikacji, prawie każda rodzina z gminy Dziemiany była w jakiś sposób związana z działalnością partyzancką. – Choć przez lata PRL nie można było o niej mówić głośno – przypomnieli wczoraj mieszkańcy Dziemian. Nakład książki o wojennej historii mieszkańców Dziemian to pół tysiąca egzemplarzy. Dostępna jest w Ośrodku Kultury w Dziemianach. Jej wydanie dofinansował gminny samorząd.
