Na Politechnice Gdańskiej otwarto nowy budynek Wydziału Chemicznego
Będą się tu kształcić m.in.przyszłe kadry przemysłu energetycznego. Nowe skrzydło dobudowano do budynku „Chemia C”.
Znajdują się tam pracownie dydaktyczne i komputerowe oraz sala audytoryjna na 135 miejsc wraz z multimedialnym wyposażeniem. Są tam też w pełni wyposażone laboratoria odnawialnych źródeł energii i biologii molekularnej oraz specjalistyczne laboratoria zabezpieczeń przeciwkorozyjnych galwanotechniki i technologii przetwarzania nośników energii. Studenci mają do dyspozycji miejsca do pracy własnej. Budynek jest w pełni przystosowany do potrzeb osób niepełnosprawnych. Poprawa warunków kształcenia umożliwiła utworzenie nowego kierunku studiów II stopnia o profilu praktycznym. Nowe skrzydło Wydziału Chemicznego Politechniki Gdańskiej kosztowało prawie 12 mln zł. Powstało przy unijnym wsparciu. Na otwarciu pomorski marszałek podpisał z władzami uczelni aneks do umowy, dzięki czemu dofinansowanie zwiększono z niecałych 4,5 do ponad 6 mln 700 tysięcy złotych.
