Czy Antoni Abraham był „propagatorem polskości Kaszub”?
Dokładnie sto czterdzieści cztery lata temu – w wiosce Zdrada w dzisiejszym Powiecie Puckim – urodził się Antoni Abraham. Ulice jego imienia współcześnie znajdują się w większości Kaszubskich miast, on sam nazywany jest Królem Kaszubów. Do tej historycznej postaci przylgnął też przydomek „propagatora polskości Kaszub”, który wzbudza kontrowersje wśród pasjonatów historii Pomorza.
Antoni Abraham opowiedział się za przyłączeniem Kaszub do Polski na konferencji w Wersalu, tuż po pierwszej wojnie światowej. Zrobił to w obawie przed germanizacją Kaszub – a sami Kaszubi popierali wtedy decyzję działacza i byli z niej dumni. Dzisiejsi mieszkańcy Kaszub różnią się jednak oceną, czy Abraham był zadowolony z obrotu spraw polsko-kaszubskich w późniejszych latach. Czy można go nazywać „propagatorem polskości Kaszub”? O ocenę tamtego wydarzenia pokusił się dziś na naszej antenie Mateusz Schmidt – młody Kaszuba i student socjologii Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego.
