Jak kiedyś na Kaszubach obchodzono wigilię Nowego Roku?
Wróżby, kolędnicy i wieczór psikusów – tak kiedyś obchodzono wigilię Nowego Roku na Kaszubach. Wróżby dotyczyły przede wszystkim pogody, długości życia, szczęścia, ożenku lub staropanieństwa.
Dziś na Kaszubach częściej wróżymy sobie w wigilię św. Andrzeja. Nadal na szczęście jest żywy zwyczaj kolędowania. Paneszki, Herodzi, Gwiżdże – niektórzy chodzili w Wigilię Bożego Narodzenia, inni w święto Trzech Króli, a jeszcze inni dziś – w Sylwestra. W sylwestrową noc kaszubska młodzież zwykła była robić sąsiadom dowcipy, często dokuczliwe – oprócz zatykania komina wyjmowano bramy czy wyprowadzano wozy na zamarznięte jeziora.
