Indywidualne Międzynarodowe Mistrzostwa Ekstraligi w Gdańsku – 28 sierpnia
Już 28 sierpnia w Gdańsku odbędą się Indywidualne Międzynarodowe Mistrzostwa Ekstraligi.
Organizatorzy turnieju żużlowego w Gdańsku – PGE Indywidualne Międzynarodowe Mistrzostwa Ekstraligi 2016 – odetchnęli z ulgą. Impreza zaplanowana pierwotnie 14.08.2016 roku, przełożona z powodu przesunięcia o dzień zawodów cyklu Grand Prix Indywidualnych Mistrzostwa Świata w Szwecji ostatecznie odbędzie się jeszcze w tym miesiącu – 28.08.2016 roku o godz. 15. Miejsce rozegrania PGE IMME pozostaje bez zmian. To stadion im. Zbigniewa Podleckiego w Gdańsku. W sprzedaży są jeszcze bilety, ale także pakiety vip hospitality. ZAKUPIONE BILETY ZACHOWUJĄ WAŻNOŚĆ W NOWYM TERMINIE!
Obsada turnieju nie ulega zmianie. Na starcie staną najlepsi żużlowcy na świecie. Niektórzy będą na wyciągnięcie ręki podczas sesji autograficznej zaplanowanej przed turniejem pod sceną zlokalizowaną na bocznym boisku. W zawodach wystartuje 16 żużlowców: 15 najlepszych zawodników po 10 rundzie spotkań wg średniej biegopunktowej w ekstralidze czyli w najważniejszej lidze żużlowej na świecie oraz gdański wychowanek Krzysztof Pieszczek, który otrzymał „dziką kartę” od organizatorów.
Zawody rozgrywane są według takiego samego regulaminu co turnieje Grand Prix Indywidualnych Mistrzostw Świata. Po rozegraniu 20 wyścigów odbędą się dwa wyścigi półfinałowe i finał. W dotychczasowych turniejach wygrywali jak na razie tylko Rosjanie: Emil Sajfutdinow w 2014 roku w Tarnowie oraz Grigorij Łaguta przed rokiem w Lesznie. Stawka zawodów będzie bardzo silna i trudno będzie wskazać faworyta.
