Ta piękna piosenka podbiła angielskie i polskie listy przebojów. Mało kto nie zna tej wpadającej w pamięć melodii.

Gordon Haskell – muzyk, wokalista, autor tekstów, podróżnik. Jeden z członków legendarnej, angielskiej grupy King Crimson.
W połowie lat 60. Haskell współpracował z różnymi zespołami – od amerykańskiej grupy League of Gentlemen, poprzez zespół Quotations z Liverpoolu, aż do trochę psychodelicznego Les Fleur de Lys – zespół występował z Jimim Hendriksem.
Grał także z Cupid’s Inspiration i Flowerpot Men. Pod koniec lat 60. Haskell wydał pierwszy solowy album – „Sail In My Boat” (1969).
W 1970 roku Gordon Haskell dołączył do grupy King Crimson, zastępując basistę i wokalistę – Grega Lake’a. Nagrał z nimi najlepiej przyjęte albumy – „In The Wake Of Poseidon” z 1970 roku i „Lizard” z 1971. Wkrótce jednak muzyk porzucił King Crimson.
W 1972 artysta nagrał kolejny solowy album „It Is And It Isn’t”, którego producentem był słynny Arif Mardin. Współpracował także z Cliffem Richardem, Van Morrisonem, Otisem Reddingiem, Timem Hardinem, Alvinem Lee, po czym zniknął na dłuższy czas z muzycznej sceny. Grał w klubach i barach, najpierw przez 10 lat w Danii, potem w Anglii.
W 2001 roku Gordon Haskell powrócił na muzyczną scenę. Napisał i wyprodukował piękną piosenkę „w starym stylu” za… 200 funtów. Utwór nagrano w pierwszym podejściu, a efekt przeszedł najśmielsze oczekiwania. Lekko jazzujący singiel „How Wonderful You Are” na dwa dni przed świętami Bożego Narodzenia 2001 roku, dotarł do drugiego miejsca angielskiej listy przebojów, ustępując jedynie duetowi Robbie Williams – Nicole Kidman. Okazał się także jednym z utworów najczęściej granych na prośbę słuchaczy w historii BBC Radio 2.
W kwietniu 2002 roku ukazał się album „Harry’s Bar”, promowany właśnie nagraniem „How Wonderful You Are”. Utwory prezentowane na płycie, przesycone lekko chropowatym głosem Haskella, przywołują skojarzenia z brzmieniem Leonarda Cohena i Chrisa Rea. Część muzyczna to głównie ballady, w których słychać wpływy muzyki country.
W maju 2003 roku ukazała się w Polsce kolejna płyta Gordona – „Shadows On The Wall”. Na krążku znalazło się 11 kompozycji, których autorem jest Haskell. Wyjątkiem są utwory „If You Could Read My Mind” (z repertuaru Gordona Lightfoota) i „Roll Away” Robbiego McIntosha).
Natomiast jesienią roku 2004 na rynku pojawił się krążek Gordona Haskella – „The Lady Wants To Know”. W Wielkiej Brytanii album miał premierę 23 sierpnia, natomiast w Europie, na początku września.
