Dziś Lech Bądkowski skończyłby 99 lat
Dziś Lech Bądkowski skończyłby 99 lat. Był to urodzony w Toruniu działacz polityczny, kulturalny i społeczny oraz pisarz.
Podczas II Wojny Światowej dowodził plutonem piechoty w Bitwie nad Bzurą. W 1940 roku przedostał się na zachód i nadal brał udział w działaniach wojennych. Po wojnie przeniósł się do Gdańska, tutaj zaczął publikować na łamach Dziennika Bałtyckiego. Mimo, iż był Polakiem, włączył się w działania ruchu kaszubskiego i współtworzył Zrzeszenie Kaszubskie. To on przełożył na język polski Życie i przygody Remusa. W sierpniu 80’ był członkiem prezydium Komitetu Strajkowego w Stoczni Gdańskiej. Został wtedy redaktorem rubryki “Samorządność” w Dzienniku Bałtyckim. To właśnie z tym słowem jest kojarzony – jego idee wiązały się z silnymi samorządami. Wspomniano o tym przed tygodniem cytując słowa Pawła Adamowicza podczas jego Pustej Nocy – Lech Bądkowski jest jednym z tych, którzy inspirują nadal swoją myślą działaczy. Zmarł 24 lutego 1984 roku w swym domu w Gdańsku. W 1991 roku jego imię uzyskała szkoła podstawowa w Luzinie, w 2000 roku pośmiertnie otrzymał Tytuł Honorowego Obywatela Gdańska.
