Gmina Kartuzy zakończyła prace nad Planem Gospodarki Niskoemisyjnej. To dokument określający politykę gminy wobec poprawy jakości powietrza w mieście. Dzięki temu mieszkańcy będą mogli ubiegać się o dofinansowania m. in. na termomodernizację budynków oraz zastosowanie odnawialnych źródeł energii.
– Tak by maksymalnie wykorzystać efekt ekologiczny, jaki może nam dać Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna – mówi burmistrz Kartuz Grzegorz Gołuński.
Samorząd także zamierza przeprowadzić termomodernizację budynków, którymi zarządza. Byłyby to między innymi: szkoła w Kiełpinie, Zespół Szkół i przedszkole w Brodnicy Górnej oraz Szkoła nr 1 w Kartuzach. W mieście powstaną także ścieżki rowerowe – między innymi prowadzące do dworca kolejowego. Czystość powietrza w Kartuzach można poprawić, choć nie jest ona tak zła jak na przykład w Kościerzynie. Kartuskie powietrze nie przekracza dopuszczalnych norm.
