Kartuzy i Sopot w zarządzie Związku Miast Polskich
Grzegorz Gołuński i Jacek Karnowski znaleźli się w gronie 20 samorządowców, których w miniony weekend w Poznaniu wybrano do władz organizacji.
Związek Miast Polskich ma swoich przedstawicieli w Komisji Wspólnej Rządu i Samorządu Terytorialnego i m.in. opiniuje projekty zmian w ustawach dotyczących samorządów. Związek wspiera też działania miast i gmin, które występują do Trybunału Konstytucyjnego.
Jacek Karnowski od początku lat 90. związany jest z samorządem, najpierw jako wiceprezydent Sopotu, później jako prezydent. Grzegorz Gołuński, burmistrz Kartuz, również od początku przemian gospodarczych zaangażowany był z tworzenie polskiego samorządu. Dlatego teraz szczególnie cieszy go wybór do zarządu Związku Miast Polskich –instytucji, która łączy w sobie 300 miast w całym kraju i reprezentuje je wobec rządu. Miesiąc temu starosta kartuski Janina Kwiecień została wybrana na wiceprezesa Związku Powiatów Polskich.
