Awaryjny zrzut ścieków nie zaszkodził Motławie
Awaryjny zrzut ścieków do Motławy nie spowodował w niej trwałych zmian parametrów środowiskowych – wynika z raportu Instytutu Morskiego w Gdańsku. W maju przez trzy dni nieczystości spływały Motławą po awarii w Przepompowni Ścieków Ołowianka. W sumie do rzeki trafiło sto tysięcy metrów sześciennych ścieków.
Badania wód Martwej Wisły i Motławy rozpoczęto dwa tygodnie po awarii. Trwały także dwa tygodnie. Zleciła je miejska spółka Gdańska Infrastruktura Wodociągowo-Kanalizacyjna. Specjaliści Instytutu Morskiego w Gdańsku mierzyli zasolenie, temperaturę, poziom tlenu, a także widzialność. Uwzględnili też sytuację hydrologiczną i meteorologiczną na Zatoce Gdańskiej. Z ich raportu wynika, że warunki po awarii sprzyjały odpływowi wód Motławy oraz Martwej Wisły do zatoki, co przyczyniło się do dobrego rozcieńczenia ścieków. Stężenie tlenu wskazuje, że nie ma trwałych zmian w środowisku. Raport ma być jeszcze uzupełniony o badania stanu Zatoki Gdańskiej. Władze miasta zapowiadają, że będą chronić wizerunek Gdańska. Po zleceniu badań zewnętrznej instytucji i otrzymaniu dobrych wyników będą używać instrumentów prawnych wobec używających określenia „katastrofa ekologiczna”.
