Kaszubscy literaci obchodzili Dzień Języka Ojczystego
To dzień rachunku sumienia w sprawie tego, co zrobiłem dla rozwoju mojej rodnej mowy – tak o przypadającym wczoraj Międzynarodowym Dniu Języka Ojczystego mówią kaszubscy literaci.
– To święto powinno być naszym corocznym rachunkiem sumienia – apeluje redaktor naczelny miesięcznika Pomerania Dariusz Majkowski.
Ustanowione w 1999 roku przez UNESCO święto ma przypominać o różnorodności językowej na świecie a także zwracać uwagę na potrzebę wielojęzycznej edukacji. Obecnie na świecie istnieje około 6 tysięcy języków, z których prawie połowa zagrożona jest wyginięciem w ciągu 2-3 najbliższych pokoleń. Dotyczy to również języka kaszubskiego, którym obecnie posługuje się na co dzień 108 tysięcy osób. Kaszubski według językoznawców zaliczany jest do zachodniosłowiańskiej grupy języków indoeuropejskich. Najstarsze zabytki naszego piśmiennictwa sięgają 1584 roku, choć na dobre rozwijały się dopiero od połowy 19 wieku. – Język definiuje człowieka i artystę – podkreśla publicysta i pisarz Eugeniusz Pryczkowski.
