Nie zostawiajmy dowodu osobistego w zastaw za wypożyczony sprzęt – uczula Główny Inspektor Ochrony Danych Osobowych.
Wypożyczalnia sprzętu sportowego czy leżaków przy plaży nie może żądać w zastaw dokumentu potwierdzającego tożsamość. To niezgodne z prawem – czytamy w apelu na stornie internetowej GIODO. Zatrzymanie czyjegoś dowodu osobistego jest wykroczeniem zagrożonym karą grzywny albo ograniczenia wolności do jednego miesiąca. Nikt nie ma prawa żądać pozostawienia w zastaw prawa jazdy czy paszportu. Jeśli firma oferująca jakąś usługę, np. wypożyczania sprzętu, wymaga od nas zostawienia dokumentu potwierdzającego tożsamość, zwróćmy uwagę że to niezgodne z prawem i zaproponujmy np. spisanie niezbędnych danych lub pozostawienie kaucji.
Dane zawarte w dowodzie osobistym oraz w innych dokumentach są bowiem wystarczające, by móc się pod nas podszyć i zaciągać różne finansowe zobowiązania, np. kupić coś w naszym imieniu i za nasze pieniądze, podpisać umowę kredytową czy podjąć z naszego konta pieniądze.
