Życzenia na Dzień Jedności spływają także zza oceanu
Dzień Jedności Kaszubów obchodzimy 19 marca na pamiątkę pierwszej pisemnej wzmianki o Kaszubach w średniowiecznej, papieskiej bulli.
Odbywają się wydarzenia sportowe, odprawiane są msze z kaszubską liturgią słowa, apele w szkołach czy bicie akordeonowego rekordu. To także sposobność do okazywania sobie wzajemnej życzliwości. W takim duchu do naszej redakcji dotarły pozdrowienia i najlepsze życzenia z Kanady od tamtejszej kaszubskiej społeczności. Działacz David Shulist pragnie przekazać je rodakom z ojczyzny, którą jego przodkowie opuścili w 19. wieku.
Kaszubi w Kanadzie świętują 19 marca oraz 18 sierpnia. Swoją tożsamość manifestują również na początku maja oraz podczas rozgrywek hokejowych Opeongo Heritage Cup.
