W Kościerzynie będzie Batalion Wojsk Obrony Terytorialnej
Decyzję ogłosili przedstawiciele wojska i rządu na konferencji w kościerskim starostwie powiatowym.
– To dla powiatu ogromny sukces – mówiła wczoraj starosta Alicja Żurawska.
Batalion będzie stacjonował na byłych terenach Powiatowego Zespołu Szkół nr 3. W tym celu powiat kościerski za półtora mln zł sprzeda wojsku wysoką i niską część internatu, a resztę przekaże w formie darowizny. Docelowo w Kościerzynie ma się szkolić nawet 800 żołnierzy. Kościerzyna będzie trzecim miejscem na Pomorzu, po Malborku i Słupsku, gdzie będą szkolić się żołnierze-ochotnicy Wojsk Obrony Terytorialnej. Tworzenie batalionu odbędzie się etapami – mówi dowódca 7. Pomorskiej Brygady Obrony Terytorialnej Tomasz Laskowski. Podpisanie aktu notarialnego oraz przekazanie internatu i darowizny na rzecz wojska planowane jest w tym roku. Po niezbędnych remontach rozpocznie się formowanie batalionu – najpóźniej na początku 2021 roku.
