Rozrasta się tzw. Błękitna Wioska w Stacji Morskiej w Helu
Rozrasta się tzw. Błękitna Wioska w Helu. Wybudowano tam multimedialną halę seminaryjno-edukacyjną oraz salę z laboratoriami do badania bałtyckiej flory i fauny. Obie są częścią kompleksu powstającego w Stacji Morskiej Instytutu Oceanografii Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego.
Zostały zbudowane w ramach projektu Błękitnej Wioski zainicjowanego przez prof. Krzysztofa Skórę – założyciela, kierownika, a obecnie patrona placówki w Helu. Nowa hala pomieści sto osób. Dzięki przeszklonej elewacji podczas pracy, zajęć edukacyjnych czy seminariów będzie można podziwiać widok na wydmy i Zatokę Gdańską, a turyści i spacerowicze będą mogli przyglądać się pracom prowadzonym w laboratorium. Inwestycja kosztowała ponad 3 mln 700 tys zł, z czego 95% pokryła dotacja z Wojewódzkiego Funduszu Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej w Gdańsku. Projekt „Błękitnej wioski” pomyślano tak, by przybliżyć pracę naukowców pracujących w Stacji Morskiej w Helu oraz by więcej osób mogło zwiedzić fokarium i wydmy nie szkodząc przy okazji środowisku. Jest tam więc już Dom Morświna oraz na wydmach ścieżka rekreacyjno – dydaktyczna.
