Dzisiaj w Gdyni rozpoczyna się 43. Festiwal Polskich Filmów Fabularnych. Przez sześć dni miłośników kina czekają seanse konkursowe, projekcje specjalne, wydarzenia towarzyszące, debaty i spotkania z filmowcami. Do Konkursu Głównego tegorocznego festiwalu zakwalifikowało się 16 filmów.
Nagrodę Platynowych Lwów za całokształt osiągnięć artystycznych otrzyma reżyser Jerzy Skolimowski, który będzie gościem specjalnego pokazu filmu „Na samym dnie”. Na program tegorocznego festiwalu składają się liczne sekcje pozakonkursowe. W sekcji Filmy z Gdyni zaprezentowane zostaną trzy dokumenty i jedna krótką fabuła twórców związanych z miastem-gospodarzem. Koprodukcje międzynarodowe powstałe ze znaczącym polskim udziałem przybliży najstarsza sekcja towarzysząca, czyli Polonica. Festiwal w Gdyni otworzy film „Kamerdyner” w reżyserii Filipa Bajona, przybliżający trudne losy Polaków, Kaszubów i Niemców na początku XX wieku.
