Lepiej nie ryzykować powikłań po odrze
Uchylanie się od szczepień jest niebezpieczne, bo powoduje wzrost zachorowań na choroby, które uznawano za opanowane. Tak inspektorzy SANEPiD w Gdyni komentują apel Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia, wzywają cy kraje europejskie do zintensyfikowania akcji szczepień przeciwko odrze.
Według danych zebranych przez organizację od początku roku w siedmiu państwach miało miejsce ponad 22 tysiące zachorowań. Wzrost liczby zarażonych ma być spowodowany tym, że wielu ludzi unika szczepień w obawie przed komplikacjami.
– Wytworzył się ruch antyszczepionkowy, rodzice za bardzo ulegają jego sugestiom – mówi rzecznik sanepidu w Gdyni Marian Piaskowski.
Odra jest wirusową chorobą zakaźną, objawiającą się gorączką oraz charakterystyczną wysypką. Nie jest groźna, niebezpieczne są dopiero powikłania po niej. Może dojść na przykład do zapalenia płuc. Skutki zachorowań mogą więc być o wiele poważniejsze niż odczyny poszczepienne – gorączka i łagodna wysypka występujące u jednego na 20 pacjentów. W połowie ubiegłego wieku odra była bardzo poważnym problemem w Polsce. Zapadało na nią nawet 200 tysięcy osób rocznie. Po rozpoczęciu akcji obowiązkowych szczepień w 1975 roku udało się niemal całkowicie zwalczyć tę chorobę. W zeszłym roku zarejestrowano jedynie 110 zarażeń.
