Lipusz i Madawaska Valley w Kanadzie nawiązały współpracę
Kaszubi z Lipusza będą współpracować ze swoimi rodakami z Kanady. To będzie pierwsze oficjalne partnerstwo samorządów – Lipusza i Madawaska Valley.
Do Kanady w najbliższych dniach trafi oficjalne pismo w tej sprawie. W Kanadzie zamieszkuje najbardziej zorganizowana emigracja kaszubska. Wyjechali w połowie XIX wieku z okolic Bytowa, Kościerzyny oraz parafii Lipusz. W kwietniu tego roku kanadyjska delegacja odwiedziła władze Lipusza. Wtedy też podpisano list intencyjny o nawiązaniu oficjalnej współpracy z samorządem Madawaska Valley zamieszkanej w dużej części przez Kaszubów.
– Robimy kolejny krok w tej sprawie – mówi wójt Lipusza Mirosław Ebertowski. Nawiązanie współpracy ma wpłynąć pozytywnie na pogłębienie kontaktów, wymianę doświadczeń w kultywowaniu kultury kaszubskiej oraz promocję regionów.
